Artists from all communities are hereby invited to submit applications for a short-term drawings residency at the National Art Gallery of Namibia from 31 August – 30 September 2016.
The National Art Gallery of Namibia (NAGN) will be hosting one artist during September this year for a self-motivated drawing residency. This residency forms part of the NAGN’s Heritage Week celebrations. The NAGN will also be hosting an exhibition of drawings, from its permanent collection and the collection of the Arts Association Heritage Trust (AAHT). Drawings form a large and important part of our artistic heritage.

Objectives of the project: This project aims to celebrate drawing as an integral medium to the artistic process, as well as provide a small space for a contemporary artist to work and create. We hope through this project to energise the Gallery space and recreate it as a place not only for inspiration but also creation.
