Meet our judges!

As our team travels from one region to another, collecting the 2017 Triennial artwork submissions from our regional collection points...we present to you yet again one of the judges.
Meet Andrew Lamprecht!

He is a curator, writer and academic based in Cape Town, South Africa. Lamprecht has taught academic subjects at the Michaelis School of Fine Art since 1998 where he established the Discourse of Art stream in 2001. Lamprecht is currently a senior lecturer and teaches both theoretical as well as practical subjects. He works actively as a curator and has worked on many local and international exhibitions. Lamprecht has been published widely, writing largely about South African art and artists with a focus on the relationship between art history and contemporary art. Lamprecht has served on various advisory and selection committees and judging panels, including the judging panel for the South African Society of Artists Members competition, the expert advisory committee of the South African Heritage and Resources Agency, the Acquisitions Committee of the Iziko South African National Gallery and the Freedom of Expression Committee of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) based in Paris. As an arts practitioner he works in the field of performance art. In his capacity as an artist Lamprecht has participated in many solo and group exhibitions both in South Africa and internationally.
